Mass Wedding for MHI Employees August 21, 2013
Formal wedding vows were exchanged by three (3) Mediatrix Homes, Inc (MHI) employees on September 1, 2012, followed by a mass baptism of six (6) children of MHI employees. In celebration of her 63rd birthday, Mrs. Mediatrix L. Tan, the first lady of Mediatrix Homes, Inc. in partnership with the Holistic Foundation, decided to celebrate her birthday in a “different way” instead of the traditional party without a cause.
When Mrs. Tan found out that some of the MHI employees have been living together for a number of years but never had the opportunity to be formally wed, either in church or civil rites, she decided to sponsor a mass wedding. On top of that, since most of the couples already have children, she also sponsored for a mass baptism.
Rev. Father Nathaniel Denlaoso who officiated the wedding and baptism, acknowledged the generosity of Mrs. Tan in his homily. He said, “You need not be a politician to sponsor for a mass wedding and a mass baptism. All it takes is a good heart.”
Aside from shouldering the expenses for the church rites, the decoration, the documentation, gifts and the reception, each of the wedded couples and the baptized children also received gift checks from Mrs. Tan, courtesy of her Holistic Foundation. It was a day of joy not only for the couples who tied the knot and the baptized children, but most of all to the birthday celebrant who was teary-eyed when she delivered her heartfelt message of renewal after the reception.
